Jim and his wife, Jule, retired to Pebble Beach four years ago and live on Mestres Drive. They have two adult children living in Nashville.
Jim and Julie were educators throughout their careers, spanning more than 40 years (once even co-teaching a Kindergarten class in Norway). Besides public teaching, Jim entered higher education working first as a professor in teacher education before completing his last seven years as a dean at several universities.
Jim and Julie stay active through local volunteering efforts, part-time jobs, and physical activities.
