A native of Erie, PA, Lynn earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University and completed an NIH fellowship at the University of Michigan Medical School.  She is Board Certified in Laboratory Animal Medicine and served on the faculty of the University of Minnesota Medical School before accepting appointments with several biotech, pharmaceutical and contract research organizations, progressing from supervisory positions to global Vice President assignments.  She retired from full-time employment in 2016 and continues to serve on the boards of multiple national and international professional organizations.  She also team teaches how to assure compliance with animal welfare regulations, standards and guidelines for research animals on behalf of NIH, USDA and FDA and an international accrediting association.

Lynn and her late husband, John Carpenter, have owned property in Del Monte Forest and been members of DMFPO for nearly 30 years.  They were thrilled to relocate here from New Jersey in 2017.  She believes that serving on the DMFPO Board is an opportunity to “pay it forward” for the privilege of living here.

Lynn has four adult stepchildren/children and five grandchildren.  She has traveled extensively throughout the world.  She also enjoys reading, walking, gardening, cooking and entertaining friends and family.
